Hair loss and baldness is a major concern for many men. It can be associated with a poor body image, make people feel old and unattractive and in general have low self-esteem. This leads to a greater likelihood of depression and other psychological problems. Hairloss treatments, such as Propecia and Dutasteride are now available to buy online.

Male Pattern Baldness at a Glance

  • Male pattern hair loss is the most common form of hair loss, representing close to 95% of all cases of hair loss in men.
  • The condition usually starts in men aged 20 to 30 and follows a typical pattern. First, a receding hairline develops, and gradually the hair on top of the head also begins to thin. Ultimately, you may have only a horseshoe ring of hair around the sides. The hair that remains is often finer, and does not grow as quickly as it used to.
  • Male pattern baldness, which is hereditary, usually occurs in middle-aged men but can also affect men in their late teens. About half of all men experience male pattern hair loss by age 50.
  • It is caused by increased sensitivity to male sex hormones (androgens) in certain parts of the scalp. The hormones make the hair follicles shrink. Eventually, they become so small that they cannot replace lost hairs. The follicles are still alive, but are no longer able to perform their task.
