Pfizer's Viagra Sidalafil Citrate

Since it first became available in 1998, the prescription drug Viagra has helped millions of men around the world improve their sex lives. Until Viagra came along in the late 1990s, there were no truly effective oral medications for erectile dysfunction. The useful drugs that were available had to be injected into the penis or inserted into the urethra. Viagra was the first of its kind and made the treatment of erectile dysfunction much easier.

Important things you need to know before you buy Viagra

What is Viagra?
The impotence medication Viagra is one of three oral treatments for impotence (male erectile dysfunction) currently available by prescription. It is a diamond-shaped blue pill containing the active ingredient sildenafil.

How does Viagra work?
Viagra works by blocking an enzyme called phosphodiesterase (PDE5). By inhibiting PDE5, the blood vessels in the penis remain relaxed for a longer period allowing for increased blood flow. It also has the effect of trapping the blood in the penis helping to produce longer-lasting erections. Viagra and the other treatments Cialis and Levitra only work in response to sexual stimulation.

What is the correct dosage for Viagra?
When ordering Viagra please note it is available in 3 strengths, 25mg, 50mg, 100mg. You should try the standard dose of 50mg first. Only if this proves ineffective, should you try the stronger dose of 100mg.

When should I take Viagra?
One hour prior to sexual activity. Viagra should not be taken more than once in any 24-hour period. Viagra remains effective after ingestion for approximately four hours.

How well does Viagra work?
It can be extremely effective. In all studies prior to market approval, Viagra demonstrated significant improvement as compared to a placebo. It has been shown to work in 78% of men regardless of what's causing their ED. In the case of men suffering from hypertension, it works in 70% of patients and for those being treated for diabetes; the success rate is 57%.

What are the side effects of Viagra?
The side effects of Viagra are not particularly great or frequent but you should be aware of them. If they do occur, they are usually short lived. Some of the following side effects have been reported:

  • Congestion
  • Diarrhea
  • Facial Flushing
  • Headaches
  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Bluish vision

Who Shouldn't Take Viagra?
Men taking medicines containing nitrates in any form should not take the impotence medication Viagra as this can cause a large and sudden drop in blood pressure. Nitrates include the heart medicine nitroglycerine (GTN) and the long acting nitrates used to treat angina (chest pain).Viagra should be used with care in patients who get angina (heart pain) on exercise. Viagra can adversely interact with some medications, including those used to treat HIV. For further advice, please email our doctor.

Customer Feedback about Viagra
As the first oral treatment for impotence and something of a media superstar, Viagra is the one that most people have heard of and are anxious to try. It has been used over the years by many people to great success. People seem to have quite a strong reaction with it, which is good in that they see results. Having said that, Viagra does have the highest amount of reported side effects – as many as 1 in 5 people say that it affects them adversely. While Viagra's erection enhancing abilities were discovered as an accidental side-effect during the development of a heart treatment, Levitra and Cialis were developed specifically as ED medication and are therefore more refined as treatments.

Customer Reviews for Viagra

Viagra a reliable aid

Reviewed by Jon on .

If find the medication to be very reliable and effective. I take one tablet around 2-3 times weekly and have never experienced any side effects which have stopped me enjoying the benefits of this little pill

Strong erection

Reviewed by Roger on .

Viagra is great for helping me to achieve a strong and longer lasting erection. Without it my penis goes flaccid within a few minutes of penetration. This treatment has vastly improved my staying power

Not for premature ejaculation

Reviewed by Gary on .

I have tried this a fair few tmes and it always helps to give me a proper erection, but didn't help much against premature ejaculation. I use priligy for that instead

Highly recommended

Reviewed by Mark on .

I would highly recommend this drug to others. Since taking it I have noticed my erections are better. The only downside is the 4 hour effectiveness, which is sometimes not enough for me to get a second and third erection.

Works well no sponteneity

Reviewed by Mike on .

The treatment works well, but timing is everything with this drug. Sadly it doesn't give me the same sponteneity as Cialis does.

Annoying side effects

Reviewed by Les on .

The medicine works, but its side effects can be really annoying. I tend to get nasal congestion and facial flushing. While these wear off after a few hours, they are not ideal.
